Hi, I’m brooke josa.

I am a certified holistic health and wellness coach and have been a professional model for 11+ years.

I’ve always had a passion for cooking since I was very young. I would pretend to host cooking shows in my kitchen. Easily one of my favorite memories as a kid. Creating nourishing dishes for people to enjoy, is a gift and one that inspires me daily. It wasn’t until later, when I developed underlying health conditions, I truly discovered what it meant to nourish myself from the inside out.

My journey to health started young, when I was diagnosed with Lyme disease at age 12. At 18, I developed Hypothyroidism. It was around the same time I started modeling professionally.  I want to preface that learning how to eat intuitively wasn’t an easy feat. For a time, I struggled with being a slave to the scale, as well as with binging. I had no idea what portion control was or that processed food was detrimental to my health. I was desperate to connect with the food on my plate all while balancing a full time modeling career.

This eventually lead me down a path of research and discovery. I learned the importance of choosing organic over conventional, whole foods over processed foods and what GMO’s are.

I also learned there is no regulation of ingredients in the beauty industry and just how toxic regular cleaning products are. What you put on your body is just as important as what you put in it.

With my newfound passion, I decided to enroll at the Institute of Integrative Nutrition to become a holistic health coach. I truly believe food is medicine, and when we nourish ourselves from the inside out, we give the body what it needs to become the best version of ourselves.

my approach

My approach is simple and non restrictive; I teach you how to listen to your own bodies’ needs and what it is communicating to you. I like to look at the bigger picture, meaning not only will we assess your current diet, we will also discuss your lifestyle, career, mental health, exercise routine, and relationships. I believe these all have a crucial role in our overall wellbeing.

i believe

I believe health and diet is not a one size fits all approach. We are all unique and innately different. What works for one person may not work for another. With the health and wellness space so over saturated with fad diets, it can be overwhelming for many to know where to start. I can help guide you to meet your goals while finding what works best for you.

back to basics

Get in the dirt. Play in the kitchen. Drink plenty of filtered water. Be kinder to yourself. Move. Want less. Practice gratitude. Stretch. Indulge sometimes. Don’t sweat the small stuff. Embrace imperfection. Loads of greens. Colorful veggies. Juicy fruit. Incorporate good fats. Experiment with herbs and adaptogens. No rules, just listening to your body.
