MAKES 6-8 BROWNIES
tahini brownies
Tahini Brownies recipe courtesy of Erin Ireland
2 Medium bananas (mashed)
1/2 Cup tahini
1 1/2 tbsp maple syrup
1/2 cup cocoa powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/4 sea salt
1/4 cup chocolate chips (I used Lakanto sugar free)
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350F. In a medium bowl, mash bananas with a fork. Stir in tahini and maple syrup, then add cocoa powder, baking soda and salt. Stir to combine then finish by adding the chocolate chips. In a parchment lined 9″x4″ pan add your batter and bake for 20 minutes. Remove from oven and let cool fully (ideally overnight) before diving in. They are quite soft and moist but will firm up when cold. They are best enjoyed cool or at room temperature.
*If you are using a thinner tahini, you may need to bake an additional 10-20 min than her recipe says. I baked mine for 40 min and they were perfect. Even better the next morning for breakfast if you ask me.
low sugar, no flour, gluten free, vegan. IT doesn’t get much better than that for a dessert. i love them for breakfast even.
